
Egypt's border guards foiled an attempt by 12 Africans to sneak into the country via Shalateen area across the Egyptian-Sudanese borders, Egypt's Armed Forces said in a statement on Tuesday.
Also, the Egyptian borders guards, backed by forces of the Third Field Army, destroyed 61 farms used for cultivating
drugs in central Sinai, the statement added.
In North Sinai, the border forces and military personnel of the Second Field Army demolished two tunnels along the border line in Rafah and confiscated a car that was loaded with 8,250 drug pills and large quantities of smuggled commodities.
Furthermore, they seized two vehicles, including a truck, over hiding two tons of bango.
In a related context, 1,116 trucks laden with goods were allowed to access via Karam Abu Sallem crossing into the Gaza Strip.
