
Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar on Monday received German Ambassador in Cairo Julius Georg Luy to review various issues of common concern.
The ambassador lauded efforts made by Egypt's Interior Ministry to eliminate terrorism and promote stability.
He affirmed his country's intention to expand security cooperation with Egypt in the coming period.
+Luy stressed the importance of concerted international effort to address the growing threat of terrorist groups, which now threatens most of the world.
For his part, Abdel Ghaffar reviewed local and international security developments and hailed cooperation with the German authorities in this regard.
He also briefed the German ambassador on the ministry's strategy to maintain balance between achieving security and respecting citizen's rights, in spite of challenges faced by the Egyptian police.
