An official at the Interior Ministry's security media center said that some police personnel were shot dead by gunmen in Giza.
The martyrs are non-commissioned officers Ahmed Fathy Hassan and Magdy Ibrahim Abdel Azim as well as conscripts Ahmed Khaled Hussien and Mohamed Zara Taha.
They succumbed to injuries they sustained when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on a car affiliated to the Giza security directorate.
Security bodies are combing the area to arrest the perpetrators, the official noted, adding that the general prosecution was notified to open a probe.
