
Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghafar held a meeting with a number of his aides and security commanders to discuss means of beefing up security measures in North Sinai in the wake of the terrorist attack on El Safa checkpoint in South Arish city.
On the set of the meeting, the minister offered condolences to families of the martyrs and ordered a full care to them. He asserted that terrorists will be severely punished and will pay a dear price for their heinous act.
He highly appreciated the sacrifices of the policemen and armed forces who have given an example of their dedication to their homeland in the face of evil powers and terrorism.
The minister also reviewed the circumstances of the attack in order to avoid similar ones, demanding a beef-up of the security measures in order to cope up with domestic and foreign changes and the security repercussions.
He also praised the high morale of the security elements and their determination to shoulder their responsibilities in the face of security threats, asserting that the ministry will take all necessary measures to bolster security measures and logistics in North Sinai in coordination with the army.
The minister also ordered intensifying security campaign to hunt down terrorist and dangerous elements.
