The sixth international Islamic conference for supporting al Quds was launched on Tuesday in the West Bank city of Bethlehem under the auspices of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Turkish Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Mohammed Kormaz, Chief Justice of Jordan Ahmed Halil, and Jordanian Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Daoud take part in the three-day conference.
Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Yousef Adeis has called on the international community to push for the protection of al-Quds Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Israel forges and falsifies history about Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine and deliberately works to obliterate the Arab and Palestinian identity, he said.
The minister urged the Arab and Islamic countries as well as international organizations to take action to provide protection for Islamic and Christian sites in the holy city.
