The ministry is seeking with development partners means to take preventive measures to contain the negative repercussions of floods in the future, such as building safe houses to the residents, Nasr said according to a ministry statement.
The AfDB allotted an urgent relief grant to support flood victims in Egypt with the aim of easing their suffering caused by the loss of lives and property, she said.
The grant is divided into two parts: the first in-kind aid to the victims (food, blankets and medicine), while the second is emergency pumps and sewer cleaning equipment, she added.
