
The Iraqi presidency, government and parliament said on Friday that Iraq will play a vital role to bring about stability in Syria after eradicating terrorist groups across the Iraqi territories.
In a released statement, the Iraqi presidency said President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri convened on Thursday night to discuss the latest political and security developments in the country.
They discussed also ways of combating corruption and settling main issues and challenges, the statement added.
They called for taking deliberate austerity steps to overcome the current financial crisis.
They praised also sacrifices of the Iraqi servicemen in the fight against Daesh terrorist group.
