
Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al Jaafari met Monday with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
During the meeting which was attended by delegations representing the two countries, they discussed the latest political and security conditions in Iraq as well as the region.
The two sides also tackled efforts exerted to fight Daesh terrorist group, offering humanitarian aid and means of supporting the Iraqi displaced and refugees.
Steinmeier arrived in Baghdad Monday on a visit to Iraq where he met with the Iraqi President Fouad Massoum and will meet with Prime Minister Haider al Abadi.
In press statements after arriving in Baghdad, the German top diplomat said that achieving stability in Iraq is not less important than finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis, reiterating his country's support for the Arab country.
