Iraqi joint forces continued the operation of liberating Tikrit Thursday as they reached Qadissiya neighborhood in central Tikrit.
There are clashes with Daesh members in Qadissiya.
The Iraqi security forces supported by al-Hashd al-Shabi (The Popular Mobilization) raised the Iraqi flag over the building of police directorate in Tikrit.
The forces shelled Daesh sites in Qadissiya and controlled the majority of the city, a security source in Salaheldin said.
As many as 70 Daesh members were killed over the past two days during the liberation operation of Tikrit, the source said.
