
Iraq’s President Fouad Massoum congratulates Tunisia’s president-elect Beji Caid Essebsi on winning the elections.
In a phone call, Massoum wished more cooperation between the two brethren countries, to achieve stability in the region.
The Iraqi president hailed the Tunisian democratic transition to power, and the awareness of the Tunisian people.
From his side, Essebsi said was thankful for Massoum and the Iraqi people, underscoring his keenness on boosting bilateral ties.
Tunisians elected veteran politician Essebsi as the new president on Sunday after a series of elections that completed the country's democratic transition following the 2011 revolution.
