
At least 30 militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed when Syrian regime fighters bombarded areas near a military airbase northeast of Syria, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Friday.
The observatory said that the Syrian regime launched an airstrike on areas near Al-Tabqa military airbase in Al-Reqa city.
Thirty ISIL militants were reported to be killed due to the attack.
Since the conflict in Syria began on March 15, 2011, the country had been torn apart by the continuous fighting between rebels and the Syrian regime. The situation was further complicated with the emergence of the ISIL.
Millions of Syrian are either displaced or sought refuge in neighboring countries due to the ongoing fighting in their country.
