
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail underlined the importance of continued cooperation and coordination with MPs to stand on people's problems across the country and work on solving them.
During a four-hour meeting late Wednesday with lawmakers, Ismail said "the government and the parliamentarians should work together to serve the nation, confront the current challenges and improve the people's standard of living."
He added that the government will hold periodical meetings with MPs for fruitful cooperation.
Ismail said he agrees with the MPs' requests, but the limited resources force the government and lawmakers to think in an innovative way to attain their goals.
The premier hailed the role of the armed forces, noting that the country is passing through an extraordinary stage and several sectors are suffering from hard conditions.
During the meeting, he spelt out the government's plan on unemployment, health insurance and development.
Ismail said the government is striving to realize an economic leap to be able to improve people's conditions, referring to the state's mammoth national projects, topped by the Suez Canal project and the 1.5 million feddan project.
The government seeks also achieve social justice, curb unemployment and maintain national security, Ismail said.
He noted that realizing development in Upper Egypt and Sinai is a top priority.
