Jordanian Government Spokesman Mohammad Al Mumani on Monday denied influx of foreign fighters to Syria via the Jordanian borders.
Interviewed by the Jordanian "Al Ghad" newspaper, Mumani asserted that the Jordanian borders are protected from one side by the Jordanian Armed Forces which have carried a double burden to secure the borders since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis.
He pressed the need for working out a political solution for the Syrian crisis.
The Jordanian spokesman remarks were made in response to US President Barak Obama statements that Washington is closely working with Jordan and Turkey to ban the infiltration of foreign fighters to Syria.
The 378-kilometer Syrian-Jordanian borders have recently witnessed a military reinforcement by the Jordanian authorities in the wake of the deteriorating conditions in Syria as hundreds of refugees are illegally crossing the borders to flee the ongoing war.
