Spokeswoman for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Sabah Al Rafie, said the Jordanian ambassador in Tel Aviv follows up the issue of detaining six Jordanians from Al Aqsa Mosque guards at the hands of Israeli authorities.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday the spokeswoman said ambassador Walid Obaidat was in contacts with Israeli authorities to release the guards.
Jordan and Palestine had signed an agreement whereby Jordan reserved the right to deploy guards at the mosque and other holy places in Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
Al Quds Waqfs director Mohamed Azzam Al Khatib said the occupation authorities detained the guards on Tuesday morning.
