Jordan's State Security Court (SSC) on Thursday sentenced to death the terrorist who attacked a General Intelligence Department's office in the Palestinian refugee camp of Al-Baqaa, northwest Amman, and killed five servicemen in June.
The court found the attacker, Mahmoud Hassan Masharfeh, guilty of committing terrorist acts that led to the death of a number of people, (Petra) news agency quoted Attorney General Ziad Edwan as saying.
The SCC also decided to sentence the second defendant, Sami Abu Omar, for one year imprisonment after amending and reducing his charge from the felony of selling weapons for illegal use to a misdemeanor of selling weapons.
