The Lower House of Representatives, on Monday, condemned statements issued by a member of the Parliament regarding Jordanian captive pilot Muath Kasasbeh, who was recently taken hostage by ISIS, a statement issued by the House said.
According to the statement, the House said it utterly rejects the MP's claims, explaining that the statement questions Jordan's official stance which has been highly appreciated, respected and trusted by the Lower House. The claims also serve the goals and objectives of terrorism and those who are targeting the Kingdom and desperately trying to create confusion and discord in the united Jordanian society.
The Lower House emphasized that the MP's statement, which has been strongly condemned not only by the legislative institution but also by all shades of Jordanian society, does not represent the opinion of the House nor does it reflect its will, but represents only her personal opinion.
The House reaffirmed its full support, as the great Jordanian people do, to the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and its absolute confidence in the Jordan Armed forces-Arab Army and all security bodies, in their efforts to defend and protect the nation and its borders and to maintain the security and safety of citizens from all forms of terrorism, stressing that the House was in full agreement with the stance of the Jordanian state in this regard.
The House saluted the steadfastness of the pilot's family and the way they have been bearing the burden and consequences of this crisis, praying to Allah Almighty to quickly release "our son, the hero, in the near future, God willing."
Referring to another issue, the House emphasized the tolerance that Islam preaches, its acceptance of the other and renunciation of violence, extremism, terrorism and killing of innocents.
It also expressed its sincere condolences to the Egyptian people in view of the recent terrorist act which led to the death of and injury of a number of Egyptian military personnel and civilians in Sinai. It also condoled the Japanese people and the government of Japan for the killing of two Japanese hostages by Daash.
The House called upon the MPs to comply with its decision not to dwell on this subject and refrain from giving any statements about it and leave it to the specialists, who follow such issues with efficiency, professionalism and competence.
