Jordanian King Abdullah II received on Saturday in New York Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and discussed ways to fight extremism and terrorism, by spreading the true and tolerant image of Islam, Petra news agency reported.
On Syria, King Abdullah said it was important to find a political solution to the crisis. The solution, he affirmed, must be agreed upon by all international parties. On the same issue, the King urged the international community to help Jordan shoulder the burdens as a result of the influx of Syrian refugees.
King Abdullah and the Albanian premier also discussed ways to bolster bilateral ties and ensure ongoing coordination on regional, international and security issues, mainly efforts to fight terrorism and extremism, which have become a global threat.
During the meeting, the King threw Jordan's weight behind the Albanian efforts to build a regional center to spread the culture of tolerance, while noting the Kingdom's efforts to highlight the true image of Islam.
