
His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday received a copy of the annual report on the state of human rights in Jordan for 2013.
During a meeting with the Chairman of the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) Board of Trustees, Mohammad Adnan Al Bakhit, who presented the report to the King, His Majesty said that the Centre plays a basic role in enhancing the Jordanians' awareness about the importance of preserving human rights across the Kingdom.
His Majesty called for building on the recommendations made by the Center in order to enhance human rights, increasing community awareness and supporting the governmental plans in this regard.
The NCHR is an independent national institution which has a juridical personality with full financial and administrative independence in practising its intellectual, political and humanitarian activities related to human rights.
Mohammed Al Bakhit briefed the King about the main findings of the report and the recommendations made to improve the human rights situation in the Kingdom.
