Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Jodah expressed the appreciation of his country of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for recently hosting a conference for Syrian opposition.
In press remarks today, Jodah said the convening of Syrian opposition leaders in Riyadh paved the way for launching a political process which, everybody, hopes to conduce to a political solution of the Syrian crisis.
Asked to comment on the UN Security Council's resolution No. 2254 last night, he said the resolution draws a road map for achieving political solution in Syria.
He said the adoption of the resolution unanimously in New York offers the required momentum to achieve political solution of the Syrian crisis which is to be based on Geneva 1, the statements issued by the Syria Support Group, and the real start of a sustainable path for a political solution that puts the bases for a comprehensive ceasefire, with the exception of terrorist organizations, e.g. ISIS so that the international effort could be focused on drifting out terrorist organizations from Syria.
