Meeting
Amman - Petra

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Libyan interim prime minister Abdullah Al-Thani, on Wednesday discussed means to forge closer ties between Jordan and Libya as well as the latest developments in the North African Arab country.
During the talks attended by a number of ministers from both sides, Ensour stressed Jordan's support to legitimacy in Libya as well as the Libyan government which was elected by the Libyan people, stressing that a solution to the Libyan issue cannot be but democratic.
Jordan, he added, had a clear stance since the beginning of the Libyan revolution as well as an effective and positive contribution to supporting choices of the Libyan people.
"Since the fall of the former regime, the two countries had enjoyed strong economic ties that are based on confidence and joint interests in the fields of trade, aviation, public works, construction, housing and medical treatment of thousands of Libyans," the prime minister said.
Ensour noted that the Kingdom will remain a haven for its Arab brethren, noting that Jordan currently hosts around 1.4 million Syrians and 500,000 Iraqis, in addition to 1.5 million people of Palestinian origins as well as 35,000 Yemenis.
Head of the Libyan government praised Jordan's supportive stance towards Libya since the start of the February 17 revolution.
He also thanked Jordan for providing treatment to a large number of injured Libyans and for establishing a field hospital in Libya to offer services to the Libyan people.
Al Thani voiced Libya's desire to benefit from Jordan's experience in the fields of judicial and legal training, the introduction of technology in the work of courts and in restructuring the administrative body.
Earlier, the head of the Libyan government received an official welcome upon his arrival at the Prime Ministry, where he was received by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour as well as a number of ministers and top officials.
