During the meetings the King thanked the Congress's Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa for the support they provide to Jordan, mainly passing a draft law to increase the US military assistance to Jordan.
The talks also touched on ways to boost coordination between the two countries to confront the terrorist organizations and the threat they pose to the world.
King Abdullah underlined the efforts being exerted by Jordan to protect the Muslim and Christian holy places in al-Quds (East Jerusalem) and to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people there, while highlighting the Hashemite custodianship of the holy places in Jerusalem.
