
Jordan's State Security Court Monday accused eight persons of belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah party with the aim of committing "terrorist acts" in the Kingdom.
The court, which would listen to 15 witnesses in a hearing over this case end of this month, said the accused were attempting to carry out acts undermining Jordan's interests, as well as possessioning of machineguns to use them in "terrorist actions," official media reported.
The court also accused the eight persons of manufacturing explosive devices and undermine Jordan's relations with a foreign country, which was not named.
The eight poeple are also accused of recruiting persons to join armed groups. Seven of the accused were present and the eighth, a Syrian, is in absentia.
