
United Nations mission in Iraq (UNAMI) said that 761 poeple were killed and 771 others were injured in June 2013. UNAMI reported among the dead, 554 were civillian, 131 were undercover police, 76 were security officials, while 389 among the wounded ones were civillians, 221 were undercover police and 161 were security officials. Baghdad, where 258 people died, became the area with highest number of deaths. Salahaddin, Nenowa, Diyala, Anbar, Kirkuk, Babil, Wasit, Basra and Najaf provinces followed Baghdad respectively. Already, May has been one of the deadliest months with 1,045 dead and 2,397 wounded because of terrorist attacks and violent acts.
