The Riyadh Municipality has designated 625 mosques and 33 open spaces, including Sulaimaniyah, Deerah and Manfuha, with special places for women for today’s Eid prayers.
The Department of Mosques of the ministry has instructed imams and those responsible for maintenance of the Eid mosques to ensure that all preparations, including adequate supply of power and water, are made.
Contracting companies which maintain mosques in the city have been asked to clean the entire worshiping areas of Eid mosques and lay carpets for the worshipers.
Emergency plans are in place for the use of neighboring mosques in case of rain in the open grounds.
The Jeddah municipality has made arrangements for Eid prayers in 279 locations across the city and suburbs.
“We have prepared 221 mosques and 58 temporary prayer yards, known as ‘musallahs,’ in the city for Eid prayers,” said an official from the Jeddah municipality.
He said that more than 1,000 cleaning personnel are being assigned at these sites.
In the Eastern Province, authorities have completed preparations for Eid prayers and announced the sites for the special prayers. In addition to the Dammam Central Mosque, where the province’s governor will pray, special sites have also been prepared in Alkhobar, Bayuoni, Al-Ahsa, Jubail and Khafji. Contingency plans have been made in case of rain.
All Eid mosques and prayer sites have been fitted with audio systems, and Zamzam water has been brought from Makkah for the special occasion.
