The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), for the second consecutive day, has distributed humanitarian aid in Tripoli.
The foundation provided aid to the Syrian and Lebanese families in a number of Lebanese governorates during the previous weeks.
In a statement, the Media Office of the UAE Embassy in Lebanon said that dispatching the assistance was overseen by Bakhit Al Kathiri, media official at the Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache of the UAE Embassy in Lebanon and field supervisor of the distribution process.
Al Kathiri said the aid was distributed to 1,450 Syrian families in co-operation with the Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organisation of Lebanon's Dar Al-Fatwa. He added that the assistance provided in Tripoli is part of the UAE's response to the displaced Syrians during the winter season in 2016, and includes a package that comprises 29 pieces of clothing and a blanket for each family.
The media official confirmed that the distribution process will continue throughout the week in a number of towns and villages in Tripoli, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 5,000 families.
