King, Crown Prince receive cables on Al Karama battle anniversary

His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, received cables of congratulation from senior civic and military officials on the 48th anniversary of the Al Karama Battle.

The King received cables from the Prime Minister, acting Senate president, acting Lower House speaker, Judicial Council president, Chief of the Royal Court, Constitutional Court president, Chief Justice, Grand Mufti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and King's advisor for military affairs, King's Advisor for National Security Affairs, Directors of the departments of general intelligence, public security, civil defence and the gendarmerie, and the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans, as well as public figures.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II also received similar cables from the top officials.

In their cables, the officials praised the victory and sacrifices of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army, led by the late King Hussein bin Talal, at the 1968 Al Karama Battle, calling it a turning point in the country's history.
