
His Majesty King Abdullah II said that citizens’ welfare isthe aim of the comprehensive reform process, which is a strategic choice and a jointresponsibility of all.At a meeting with head and members of the parliamentary National Action FrontBloc, the King stressed the importance of approving reform legislation andeconomic laws that are a priority for the next stage.He said that activating the role of parliamentary blocs in the Lower House ofParliament requires continuous evaluation and development of the House’sperformance as well as contribution in presenting plans and programs that help indrafting effective policies that serve the national development process incooperation with the executive authority.During the meeting attended by the prime minister, the Royal Court chief, and thedirector of the King’s Office, His Majesty emphasized the need to enhance theprinciple of partnership and cooperation between the authorities to address variouschallenges and support the reform process.He said that the current economic situation and addressing the economic challengesfacing the Kingdom are a top priority, and urged for continued cooperation with allconcerned parties to ease burden on the citizens.The meeting also tackled the latest developments at the Arab and regional levels,mainly efforts to achieve peace in the region, in addition to the crisis in Syria.On peace efforts, the King said Jordan was in continuous contact with all theconcerned parties and is familiar with all details related to peace negotiationsbetween the Palestinians and Israelis to preserve its higher national interests.Members of the bloc praised the King’s efforts to maintain contact with allparliamentary blocs and listen to their views. They also presented a number of ideasand proposals to address various issues and enhance parliamentary work.The meeting came as part of a series of meetings held by His Majesty with memberof the Lower House of Parliament and its parliamentary blocs.
