Kingdom and Egypt have historical opportunity to achieve tremendous economic strides

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt have a historical opportunity to achieve tremendous economic strides through cooperation between them.

He pointed out that close cooperation between the two countries is the start for Arab and Islamic world to achieve balance after years of imbalance and for the adoption of a collective and strategic action after years of dispersion.

Saudi press Agency (SPA) reported that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques made the remarks while giving a speech today before Egypt's House of Representatives.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said "For many years, the Egyptian Parliament has contributed to the formation of the history and modern civilization of Egypt. I would like to emphasize the influential role of your Parliament in promoting historical relations between our two brotherly countries."

"Resolving our nation's issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, does require all of us to unite. The current Saudi-Egyptian close cooperation is a blessed start for our Arab and Islamic world to achieve balance after years of imbalance. It is important that the executive and legislative authorities in our countries bear full responsibilities towards our people and the future of our nation, and that we all cooperate in order to achieve common objectives that serve the development of our countries," the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt have a historic opportunity to achieve tremendous economic strides through cooperation between them."

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also said "During the past two days, we witnessed the signing of a number of agreements, memoranda of understanding, executive programs and investment contracts. We also agreed on constructing a land bridge linking our two brotherly countries, that will contribute to increasing the trade exchange between the continents, supporting the exports of the two countries and enhancing the economic movement in Egypt. The bridge will be a port for pilgrims and tourists and will provide job opportunities for the region's people."

"We should work together to counter terrorism, as evidence confirms that the Arab and Muslim world is largely affected by it. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia realized the need to unify visions and stances to find practical solutions for this phenomenon. Therefore, the Islamic military alliance was formed to fight terrorism. We are also working together to establish a joint Arab force," The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques concluded.
