Anwar Muslim, a lawyer and the regional chief of Kobani (also known as Ayn al-Arab), announced that the Kurdish fighters have managed to stop the advance of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group towards the city center.
"The ISIL's advance has been stopped in all directions and hundreds of terrorists have been killed," Muslim told FNA on Tuesday.
The terrorists have been making continuous efforts since last night to restart advancing towards the city center from the Eastern and Southern parts of Kobani, but the Kurdish forces have stopped them, he added
Noting that the ISIL terrorists have occupied 25% to 40% of Kobani city, Muslim said they want to massacre the people who have remained in the city.
He called on the world people to hear the voice of the Kobani people and help them, saying that "the collapse of Kobani will be the collapse of humanity and a victory for savage terrorists".
Kobani, Syria's largest Kurdish city, has seen intense battles over the past three weeks as ISIL terrorists are trying to seize the city due to its strategic location.
Thousands of people in Britain, France and Turkey have been protesting against the slaughter of innocent people in the Syrian-Kurdish town of Kobani by the ISIL terrorists, and showing anger at the UN and Turkey's inaction and blocking of aid to the people of Kobani.
