A national top anti-corruption official on Sunday stressed that tackling administrative corruption has become a necessity and a major problem that must be faced and resolved.
In accordance with His Highness the Amir's desire regarding recent crises that led to flaws in a number of state departments and a great deal of corruption forms, "finding remedies has become an inevitable national liability that warrants tackling," said Ahmad Al-Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Public Anti-Corruption Authority, addressing workshops that got underway today for "combating corruption and defining financial disclosure as stipulated by the Decree-into-Law Number 24 (2012), upon which the authority had been established.
The authority, since its establishment, has been working diligently to start effecting its conventions and rules, pending endorsement of the relevant executive legislations.
Law upon which the authority was set up, along with attached provisions, stipulate divulging financial assets, explained Al-Rumaihi at start of the workshops that tackle in particular the financial status of senior personnel in the public sector.
The authority, which examines relevant reports, holds such workshops to educate the public, namely the leading personnel, about rules that govern these disclosures and how to fill reports of such acknowledgements.
In this respect, Al-Rumaihi assured concerned citizens that such information are secretly kept.
The five-day workshops tackle financial disclosures by directors of government departments, authorities and establishments, members of boards, deputies, assistants, and those who serve in key posts in companies where the state has stakes, at a rate more than 25 percent of the capital.
One of the gatherings during the five-day event will address the issue concerning undersecretaries, their assistants, experts and judicial figures.
