
Deputy Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Mubarak Banih left here on Wednesday heading for Cairo to attend the inauguration ceremony of the New Suez Canal, slated for Thursday.
The participation comes at an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, according to a released statement issued by Banih's office.
He expressed thanks and gratitude for president Sisi over the invitation and wished prosperity and progress for Egypt.
The inauguration is a landmark event in the history of Egypt, he said in the statement, adding that the new canal will be the gift from Egypt to the whole world.
