Kuwait First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah left Rabat Tuesday, concluding a two-day official visit during which he headed his country's delegation to the 8th session of the joint Kuwaiti-Moroccan higher committee, which concluded earlier today.
The committee meeting, which was co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Salahuddine Mezouar, resulted in the signing of seven cooperative agreements, memos of understanding and executive programs in the fields of renewable energy, culture, arts, postal services, export promotion, youth and sports, industry and education.
At a joint press conference after the signing ceremony, both men underlined deep-seated relations between the two countries.
They described the new agreements signed as "launching pads" for broader cooperation and more involvement for the private sector in investment ventures in Africa due to "dynamicity" of Kuwaiti investment activities in Morocco.
They also talked about terrorism and the need to counter it within human, ethical and legal frameworks that both countries and tolerant peoples believe in.
The visit also saw Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled holding talks with Prime Minister Abdulilah Benkirane on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments, particularly the Palestinian cause.
The top Kuwaiti diplomat is accompanied by Abdulwahab Al-Bader, Director General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), and the director of his office Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah.
