
A training session organized by Kuwait's Foreign Ministry, entitled "Human Rights in Kuwaiti Legislations and International Conventions", in cooperation with Faculty of Law in Kuwait University, ended on Wednesday.
"The training session coincides with the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a 'Humanitarian Leader' and Kuwait as a 'Humanitarian Center," Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah said in a speech at the concluding ceremony.
"The UN honoring is a source of pride to both Arab and Islamic nations," he affirmed.
The session was held in the framework of a project aimed at enhancing Kuwait's efforts in human rights. It is aimed at improving the skills of Foreign Ministry staff and helping them be more aqcuainted with the topic, he said "The ministry is currently working on preparing a book, which will be issued soon, on children's rights in Kuwait," Al-Jarallah also pointed out.
The human rights project is divided into three main categories, namely organizing training sessions inside Kuwait, outside of it and issuing an annual brochure on the government's measures taken on the issue.
