Kuwaiti justice minister stresses Arab court of justice

Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaacoub Al-Sanaa underscored here on Monday the necessity of establishing an Arab court of justice which Arab countries can seek in case of disputes.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the First Arab Conference on International Arbitration, which kicked off in Cairo on Sunday, the minister said he had submitted a suggestion during the gathering on the creation of a court of justice within the Arab League.
Once effective, this court would find fast-track settlements to potential disputes among Arab countries, he said, adding that time is now ripe for Arab countries to have their own court of justice.
The court is part of ongoing efforts to reach Arab integration which is the only way to head off potential external risks and perils threatening the Arab world.
Co-organized by the Arab Lawyers Union (ALU), Arab Federation For International Arbitration and the International Arbitration Center, the two-day First Arab Conference on International Arbitration highlighted alternatives to settle disputes outside the typical courtroom, through mediation and reconciliation, in addition to the traditional and modern theories and on the relationship between judiciary and arbitration as well as the issue from an Islamic view.
