
The 54th Independence Day Exhibition kicked off at Hall 6 of the International Fair Ground in Mishref Monday under auspices and presence of the Governor of Farwaniya Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah.
The five-day event is held and organized by the Kuwait International Fair (KIF) with participation of various state ministries, bodies, and bureaus, Sheikh Faisal said in a press statement on sidelines of the exhibition's opening.
He noted the government agencies' participation is part of their contribution to state celebration of independence and liberation days.
Participating bodies showcased in their stalls at the expo their publications in order to get visitors acquainted with their services, he added.
Meanwhile, Munira Al-Fadhli, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Administrative Development in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, said that the ministry, via sectors of social development, social care, community development, medical and occupational rehabilitation, display samples of the production of the Ministry-supported small business such as that of the productive families and talented children.
Abdulrasoul Salman, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Formative Arts Society (KFAS), stated to KUNA that the KFAS is taking part at the expo with works of 34 Kuwaiti veterans and new formative artists.
Furthermore, Basma Al-Duhaim, KIF's Director General of Marketing and Public Relations, told KUNA that the 54th Independence Day Exhibition is considered as one of the biggest national expos in the country as it includes a wide array of activities.
Nearly 30 bodies are participating in the event, Al-Duhaim pointed out, adding that 10 of which are official sponsoring bodies as the foreign ministry is a platinum sponsor, Social Development Office; a diamond sponsor, while Information Ministry, Kuwait National Guards, Kuwait Industrial Bank, Awqaf Ministry, Kuwait Aircraft Engineers and Pilots Association, and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate are golden sponsors.
