The Public Prosecution will not challenge a court decision to release Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, the sons of former president Hosni Mubarak, who were charged with embezzling, along with their father, about 125 million pounds originally allocated to repairing presidential palaces, said Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat.
In exclusive statements to MENA, Barakat said that when the indictment is issued by the prosecution, the whole case became under the authority of the court assigned to look into the case and without any interference from the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution implements the provisions of the law, without looking into any other considerations, he affirmed.
