The adoption of the bill on the protection of children and the bill on the strengthening of efforts to end violence against women are further proof of the commitment of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to promoting human rights in Algeria, said Wednesday in Algiers the Chairman of the National Consultative Commission for Human Rights Promotion and Protection (CNCPPDH), Farouk Ksentini.
The adoption by the Council of Ministers of the two bills during the meeting chaired Tuesday by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika is a "further proof of President Bouteflika's commitment to strengthening the promotion of human rights in Algeria for all sections of the society," Ksentini told APS.
He underlined that the "protection of women and children against any form of violence constitutes the protection of all the Algerian society," adding that these two bills are among the main demands of the political parties, MPs, civil society organisations and lawyers."
