Lebanese armed forces today managed to tighten their grip on Arsal and surrounding wadis, Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) field reporters confirmed.
Troops deployed in force inside and outside the town in a bid to prevent the return of extremist gunmen, the same reporters added.
Meanwhile, army units continued to patrol the inner quarters of the town with fixed road blocks springing up in strategic parts of town.
To the obvious relief of Arsalis suffering for long at the gunmen’s hands, the same reporters concluded that there still remains the daunting issue of kidnapped soldiers and many Syrian refugees displaced by the fighting into the wilderness for a second time running.
