
Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam honored Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil and Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Abdel Aziz Seif Eddin during the opening session of the Arab Economic Forum on Thursday.
The Egyptian trade minister was honored over his efforts in supporting Egyptian-Lebanese economic ties.
An initiative called "Egypt-Lebanon to Africa" was launched to promote Arab cooperation under a strategy adopted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to bolster trade exchange and joint investments among Arab countries and between Arab and African countries.
Salam also honored AOI chief Seif Eddin in appreciation of the organization's role in promoting Arab-African relations.
The forum's opening session was attended by a number of Arab economic, trade and planning ministers, in addition to a heavy presence by Arab and Lebanese investors and businesspersons.
