
Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian commended here on Saturday the Kuwaiti leading role in humanitarian action and supporting needy people.
Sheikh Derian made this remark after a meeting with the visiting delegation of "Humanitarian Leader" campaign headed by Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea, to offer relief aid to displaced Syrians living nationwide the country.
In a statement to KUNA, Sheikh Derian said that Kuwait always stands beside needy people and does not hesitate to offer its hands to Arabs and Muslims.
He expressed his gratitude to the State of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti people for their continuous support to Lebanon and Arab countries in different domains and during tough circumstances.
The Mufti discussed with the delegation the humanitarian conditions of the Syrian refugees and hosting camps, as well as the urgent needs for the refugees amid the severe weather conditions in the country.
The meeting was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdelaal Al-Qenaei.
The campaign had paid a visit to Jordan and provided aid for about 3,000 Syrian families.
