Libya has denied news that the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli was stormed.
Reports circulated on news websites and social networking pages to that effect are baseless, said al Mabrouk Abu Thuhair, the official responsible for diplomatic security in Tripoli, Tuesday.
The Egyptian Embassy in Libya has not been attacked, Abu Thuhair stressed in press statements.
The embassy is protected by elements of the diplomatic security sector, Abu Thuhair noted.
He urged all media outlets to be accurate in their coverage and to take into consideration the current situation in the country.
All necessary measures have been taken to secure diplomatic missions in Libya, Abu Thuhair stressed.
