Head of Deportation Office at Misrata Center for Anti-Illegal Immigration Saleh Abu Dabus urged the Libyan government to support the center by sheltering hundreds of illegal migrants who are arrested across the Libyan territorial waters and borders with neighboring states.
Abu Dabus told MENA that the number of illegal immigrants are significantly increasing during the current period.
This would led to a shortage in supplies available at migrants' gathering centers in the country, he added.
He called on the European Union (EU) to help Libya in combating illegal migration.
There is no cooperation from the international community to stop the inflow of illegal immigrants coming from the borders and the country's territorial waters, he added.
