Libya's militant group chief dead

Leader of Libya's Ansar al-Sharia armed group Mohamed al-Zahawi has died of wounds he suffered during clashes in Benina city, said Army Spokesman Ahmed el Mesmary.
Zahawi had been in hospital since he was hurt in September, he added.
Ansar al-Sharia is classified by the United States and the United Nations as a terrorist organization.
Washington believes the group is responsible for the 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that killed the ambassador and three other Americans.
