
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has stressed that the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, take a great interest in promoting social harmony and the values of coexistence, tolerance and equality regardless of faith, race, colour or origin.
She was speaking during a meeting with UK's Baroness Susan Williams, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government.
"The UAE government, headed by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, promotes dialogue, coexistence and acceptance of others and rejects hate, discrimination and bigotry. This has transformed the UAE, which hosts nationals of more than 200 countries, into a hub for human communication, Sheikha Lubna said.
She noted more than 120,000 Britons live in the UAE.
The meeting took place on the fringe of the fifth Fortune Most Powerful Women International Summit, held by Fortune Magazine.
Minister Al Qasimi presented Baroness Williams with a copy of the UAE's National Tolerance Programme, recently approved by the cabinet.
