Mahlab asserts importance of coordinating efforts with Tunisia to fight suicide

Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab asserted Tuesday that coordinating efforts with Tunisia was important to encounter dangerous challenges facing both states and the Arab world.

The prime minister made the remarks during the 15th meeting of the joint higher committee which convened for the first time in five years in Tunis. The 14th meeting was held in Cairo in 2010.

Addressing the committee, Mahlab hoped the two states would continue comprehensive development through enhanced cooperation at various levels.

The premier highlighted strong relations linking the two states at economic level, he told the committee. "It is our duty to push the relations forward to bolster relations."

"Our trade volume does not meet the aspirations of the peoples of both countries." The Egyptian investment in the tTunisian market was estimated at dlrs 215 million by end of 2014, while the Tunisian investments in Egypt did not exceed the limit of dlrs 35 million, the prime minister said.
