
Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held, during his visit to Damietta Monday, a meeting with the executive apparatuses and leaders in the governorate.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of industry, trade, local development, youth, electricity, health and population as well as the secretary general of the Social Fund for Development and Damietta Governor.
During the get-together, Mahlab said that the Delta city has the least unemployment and illiteracy rates in Egypt, adding that it has the potentials of success in the fields of industry and tourism as well as other activities.
He underlined also that he will hand the governor a booklet, which was prepared by the Urban Planning Authority affiliated to the Housing Ministry and depicts a developmental vision for Damietta till 2030 in the domains of tourism, industry and agriculture especially that 70 percent of its lands are agricultural.
The prime minister tackled also the projects implemented in general in the whole country by the government and its various developmental efforts, noting that the cabinet constructs 240,000 housing units.
As many as 70,000 housing units have been finalized and will be delivered soon, he underscored.
Mahlab further highlighted the efforts exerted by the Armed Forces and the police to fight terrorism and achieve stability as well as security, adding that all the Egyptian people are united under the leadership of the president.
