
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab stressed the need to complete the plan on upgrading social care institutions, adding that he will visit a number of them to get acquainted with the development progress in terms of quality of services.
During a meeting with Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali to follow up the implementation of the ministry's plan in the social care field, the premier said he will be visiting a number of homes to follow up the ongoing progress.
The meeting covered the ministry's plan which focuses on orphanages in particular. The minister referred to around 448 orphanages and 84 day care homes for orphans across the country that are under the ministry's supervision.
Around 77% of the plan has been completed and this covers many aspects including psychological assessment which was conducted on 10% of the children, she said, adding that a comprehensive data base on social care homes has been completed and all suggestions to develop their performance have been discussed.
