
Mahlab said the tunnel project is considered the largest in the world, pointing out that the project will facilitate the movement of people from and to Sinai.
Any Cairo resident can reach Sinai within two hours' time after the fulfillment of the tunnel project, said Mahlab.
Mahlab a former prime minister, said the Egyptians are able to deal with challenges, pointing out that despite suspicion on the ability to complete the construction of the New Suez Canal project, the government managed to complete the project in one year.
For his part, Wazir said the tunnel projects are being carried out by Egyptian companies in cooperation with consultants from Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
