
General Manager of National Police, Major General Abdelghani Hamel reassured the police officers in Ghardaïa, who protested Monday over the attacks they were victims of during the past 24 hours that all their concerns will be handled.
Police officers, deployed in the region M’zab staged Monday a march in front of the prefecture and organized a sit-in outside the headquarters of the Police department of Ghardaia to "draw attention" on their "working conditions," said a journalist of APS.
According to a communiqué of the General Directorate of the National Police (DGSN), major general Hamel, on a visit to the city, met with some of the protesters who "outlined their preoccupations notably after the attacks they received during the past 24 hours."
"Three policemen were injured and no death was recorded as reported by some parties," the same source added.
Police chief also said that the policeman is the "man of sacrifice and remains exposed to the risks during the accomplishment of his noble mission."
He further stated that the DGSN continues its "mission selflessly under the strict observance of the laws of the Republic."
Later, the Director General of National Police headed to the hospital of the province to visit the injured policemen.
The police officers of the province who "welcomed the visit," -part of the working and inspection visits to all structures of police, also "welcomed the particular interest expressed by the Chief of police to handle their socio-professional "concerns, the statement added.
