Matrouh security foiled an attempt by 153 persons to illegally cross the border into Libya.
The arrestees, all Egyptians except two Sudanese and one Bengali nationals, were seized in Salloum.
Egypt has been trying very hard to fight illegal immigration through keeping a close eye on desert paths and mountainous areas used by infiltrators to cross border into neighboring states.
